Skywalk Gibraltar is one of the most impressive viewpoints on the Rock of Gibraltar. Located at the very top of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, the Gibraltar Skywalk offers breathtaking panoramic views across the Strait of Gibraltar, Spain and even the mountains of Morocco in North Africa on clear days. This modern glass platform allows visitors to stand high above the cliffs while enjoying one of the most spectacular sights in Gibraltar.
Where is Skywalk Gibraltar located?
The Skywalk viewpoint is located near the summit of the Rock of Gibraltar inside the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. Positioned over 340 metres above sea level, the Skywalk provides visitors with incredible views across the Bay of Gibraltar, the Spanish coastline and the famous Strait of Gibraltar. It is also located close to other popular attractions such as O’Hara’s Battery and the Gibraltar monkeys that live around the Upper Rock.
History of Skywalk Gibraltar
The Gibraltar Skywalk officially opened in 2018 and was inaugurated by actor Mark Hamill, famous for playing Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. The name “Skywalk” was inspired by this connection. The viewing platform was built to create a safe and modern panoramic viewpoint where visitors can experience the dramatic cliffs and landscapes of Gibraltar from above.

From the Skywalk Gibraltar platform visitors can enjoy some of the most breathtaking views on the Rock. On clear days you can see across two continents and several famous landmarks.

Visiting Skywalk Gibraltar
This glass viewing platform is located inside the Upper Rock Nature Reserve and is included in most Gibraltar sightseeing tours. Visitors usually combine the Skywalk with other nearby attractions such as St Michael’s Cave, the Great Siege Tunnels and the famous Gibraltar monkeys. Many private Gibraltar tours include a stop at the Skywalk to enjoy the spectacular views from the top of the Rock.
